6月1日上午,中山大学中文系讲学厅,虽然经历了停电的小小波折,但丝毫没有影响关溪莹同学博士论文答辩的顺利通过.经以中国民俗学会副理事长,华东师范大学教授,博士生导师陈勤建教授为主席的答辩委员会讨论一致通过,授予叶春生教授指导的关溪莹同学博士学位,且五位评委一致同意将该同学论文评为优秀.

内容提要
广州世居满族是清代驻粤八旗兵的后裔,在广州已经生活了247年。本文通过他们民俗生活的变迁观照这个城市中的少数民族族群在不同社会历史情境中的生存状态,以他们在迁入地广州社会进行文化重构的过程为主线,探讨其文化体系中的核心因素——族群认同在不断变化的时代语境中所作的自我调节与完善。
广州世居满族来到广州的前155年中,生活在国家权力所构造的封闭的生活世界里,族群传统民俗是他们进行文化重构的资源。这一时期,有大量传统民俗被保存下来,构成族群认同的基础;从清政府解体到中国改革开放之前,他们走出封闭世界,逐渐适应广州社会,民俗生活发生了诸多适应性变异,但是并没有令满族消亡,原因是由于族群认同被激发和传承。在中国改革开放的背景之下,广州世居满族历经两百余年的发展,成为一个比较成熟的城市少数民族族群,他们利用广州优越的现代化条件,运用各种手段强化族群认同,争取最大的发展空间,努力完成自身与广州现代社会的融合。
可见,族群认同是广州世居满族得以存在和延续的决定性因素。在共同的地域、共同的血缘和共同的经济生活都已经消亡的今天,他们通过三个中心点——满族联谊会、满族坟场和满族小学,通过将传统民族节日现代化,通过国家权力、地方组织与民间社会的互动强化族群认同,完成族群现代化,顺应广州乃至整个中国社会的现代化转型。
在我国社会全面转型的大趋势下,城市少数民族的现代化是一个不容忽视的问题。我们强调少数民族要强化族群认同,并不是人为设置民族壁垒,而是希望他们充分利用民族传统文化资源,利用国内外的良好发展环境,建立符合自身特点的现代族群发展意识,促成国家政府、少数民族族群和民间社会密切配合、协调互动,以达到中华民族的大融合和共同进步。
广州世居满族的发展是广州区域历史文化与其族群个性共同促成的结果,具有一定“非典型性”,不过其现代化过程中出现的诸多问题对其它少数民族族群却具有借鉴意义。笔者希望通过这一课题的研究丰富现代背景下中国族群建构理论,引发相应的思考与讨论。

Abstract
Guangzhou’s Manchu, descendant of Eight-flags’ soldiers in Qing Dynasty, have been in Guangzhou for 247 years. Through the change in their folk-lives, we can get their exist state in different social instance and looking their cultural restructure in Guangzhou as a masterstroke, we can research how Ethnic group self-identity, the core in their cultural system, to adjust and consummate by itself in changing age.
During 155 years after Manchu arrived in Guangzhou, they lived in a close world built by Qing government. A lot of customs were preserved, coming into being the base of Ethnic group self-identity. From Qing Dynasty disorganization to Liberation, they went out of close world, adapted to Guangzhou society and folk-custom changed. Because of having Ethnic group self-identity, they didn’t disappear. Under the background of reformation, comes a mature Guangzhou’s Manchu. They are making use of advanced modern measures to strengthen Ethnic group self-identity, trying to blend in modern Guangzhou society.
It is confirmed that Ethnic group self-identity is the decisive factor to exist and development of Guangzhou’s Manchu. They enhance Ethnic group self-identity by three centers : Manchu union、Manchu elementary school and Manchu burial ground, through modernize traditional festival , utilizing collaboration among government 、regional organization and popular society . The aim is modernize Guangzhou’s Manchu, adapt to modernization of Guangzhou and the whole China.
Under our country’s whole conversion, minority’s modernization in city couldn’t be ignored. We hope minority utilize ethical traditional culture and favorable environment to construct modern consciousness for development, cooperating with government and folk society.
The development of Guangzhou’s Manchu is decided by history、 culture of Guangzhou and their own individuality . This case will be benefit to other Ethnic groups in city. Through the study, we hope to richen China’s Ethnic group theory in modern society.
